Top 5 in world ranking commit to RBC Heritage, but Tiger Woods will take another week off
For the second consecutive week, the PGA Tour will feature the top five players in the Official World Golf Ranking as the RBC Heritage finalized its field for this week’s tournament in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
And for the second consecutive week as the PGA Tour resumes its season, Tiger Woods will not play.
Nos. 1-5 in the OWGR – Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, Spain’s Jon Rahm and Americans Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson, respectively – will tee it up beginning Thursday at Harbour Town Golf Links. Woods, the defending Masters champion who ranks 11th in the world, has given no indication of where he might resume his season.
The PGA Tour ended a three-month hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic by restarting last week at the Charles Schwab Championship at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
This week’s tournament at Harbour Town was rescheduled from its customary spot in mid-April, during the week after the Masters.
The 154-man field for Harbour Town:
An, Byeong Hun
Cabrera Bello, Rafa
Howell III, Charles
Kim, Si Woo
Love III, Davis
Potter, Jr., Ted
Van Pelt, Bo
van Rooyen, Erik
